OSUN ELECTION: PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES ADELEKE, SAYS VICTORY ASSURES DEMOCRACY WILL FLOURISH;
“President Calls Osun Governor, Urges Him to Unite the People for Growth, Stability and Progress”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the just-concluded Osun State governorship election, describing the outcome as a “fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country” under the All Progressives Congress administration.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), President Tinubu disclosed that he called Governor Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him.”
President Tinubu wished Governor Adeleke great success as he prepares to lead Osun State for the next four years.
The President, while congratulating the governor, urged him to use his victory as an opportunity to unite the people of Osun State and rally them towards growth, stability, and social and economic progress, irrespective of the political choices made by citizens during the election.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election.”
TINUBU SALUTES OTHER CONTESTANTS
President Tinubu also commended the courage and discipline displayed by the other contestants who participated in the Osun governorship election.
According to him, their participation contributed to deepening and enriching Nigeria’s democratic culture.
He noted that the outcome of the election reflects the will of the people, describing it as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in the country.
“I salute the courage and discipline displayed by other contestants in the election. Their participation deepened and enriched our country’s democratic culture.”
PRESIDENT COMMENDS INEC, SECURITY AGENCIES
President Tinubu further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
The President’s statement comes following the conclusion of the Osun governorship election and the emergence of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the winner.
The development further underscores the importance of peaceful political participation, democratic competition and respect for the outcome of elections in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process.
