The Kwara Kiddies League has officially released the complete list of award categories for the 2025 season, underscoring its commitment to recognizing talent, discipline, and exceptional performances among young footballers across the state.

This season, a special award will honour the late Soliu Sanusi, a promising Makamz FA player whose untimely passing inspired the league to further strengthen grassroots football development.

Announcing the categories, League Chief Operating Officer Ibrahim Jatto said the awards were designed to reward both individual brilliance and team achievements while promoting the core values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork.

The awards for the 2025 season include:

Team of the Season – 11 standout players selected across all positions

Team of the Season (Reserves) – four additional top performers

Player of the Season

Goalkeeper of the Season

Defender of the Season

Midfielder of the Season

Top Striker of the Season

A major highlight is the Revelation of the Season, dedicated to the memory of late Soliu Sanusi, awarded to the most outstanding U-13 player. Other categories include Referee of the Year, Manager of the Year, and the Fair Play Award, reflecting the league’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Jatto confirmed that the Grand Finale Planning Committee will release the official list of nominees during the week, based strictly on performance data and season statistics.

The grand awards ceremony is scheduled for 14th December 2025 and is expected to be the biggest celebration of grassroots football in Kwara State. High-profile attendees will include the Executive Governor, members of the State Executive Council, the Speaker and Honourable members of the State House of Assembly, professional football bodies, and stakeholders from within and outside the state.

Taiwo Awoniyi, Super Eagles forward and Chairman of Kwara Kiddies League Ltd, will host the Grand Finale. Awoniyi promised a “fitting celebration” that will highlight the journey and achievements of young players throughout the season. He also reaffirmed the League’s dedication to creating memorable experiences and strengthening the foundation of youth football in Kwara State.
