AN APPEAL FOR FAIRNESS, EQUITY, AND STRATEGIC JUSTICE IN KWARA STATE POLITICS:

To the Distinguished Leaders and Power Brokers of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

We at YODECO writes with deep respect, sincere conviction, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and long term electoral strength of this great party in Kwara State. This letter is not merely a political appeal; it is a call to FAIRNESS, EQUITY, and strategic FORESIGHT. These are principles that have always guided successful and enduring political structures.

Since the beginning of the Fourth Republic in 1999, Kwara State has operated under a political arrangement that has, intentionally or otherwise, rotated leadership among two senatorial districts out of three. Kwara Central has produced multiple governors. Kwara South has also had the opportunity to lead the state. However, Kwara North, despite its loyalty, population strength, and consistent contribution to electoral victories, remains the only district yet to produce a democratically elected GOVERNOR in this Fourth Republic.

This reality presents not just a political imbalance, but a MORAL QUESTION. EQUITY demands that all constituent parts of the state feel a sense of belonging. JUSTICE requires that opportunity circulates fairly, and political wisdom teaches that inclusion strengthens unity, while EXCLUSION breeds DISENGAGEMENT.

Kwara North has demonstrated extraordinary loyalty to the All Progressive Congress (APC), particularly in the 2023 GENERAL ELECTION. Despite having a viable gubernatorial aspirant from the North contesting under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the people of Kwara North overwhelmingly stood with the APC. This was not a small SACRIFICE. It was a deliberate choice; one rooted in party loyalty, belief in progressive governance, and trust in the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Such LOYALTY must not go UNNOTICED. When a region chooses party unity over sectional ambition, it sends a powerful message of commitment. Kwara North chose the party FIRST. Today, fairness demands that the party also choose Kwara North FIRST.

An objective look at the voting pattern across the three senatorial districts further strengthens this argument. Historically, Kwara North has demonstrated consistency in supporting progressive platforms. Even in politically tense contests, the district has largely voted in one direction, showing discipline, cohesion, and reliability. This consistency is a rare POLITICAL ASSEST. It provides a stable base upon which statewide victories are built.

In contrast, voting patterns in other districts have often been more fluid, influenced by varying political dynamics. Kwara North, however, has remained dependable, a solid pillar that the APC can confidently rely upon during elections. Rewarding such STEADFASTNESS is not only FAIR, it is STRATEGICALLY SOUND.

Beyond fairness, prioritizing Kwara North also offers electoral advantages. Granting the governorship ticket to the North would:

* Reward loyalty and reinforce trust in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

* Neutralize narratives of marginalization.

* Create a historic and unifying political moment. And,

* Strengthen party unity across the state.

Politics thrives on perception as much as performance. A decision to prioritize Kwara North would be widely seen as an act of JUSTICE, INCLUSION, and MATURITY. It would send a strong signal that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is a party that rewards LOYALTY, respects EQUITY, and understands the importance of BALANCED REPRESENTATION.

This is not an appeal for FAVORITISM. It is an appeal for FAIRNESS…

It is not a demand, it is a REASONED EXPECTATION…

It is not SECTIONAL, it is UNIFYING…

The people of Kwara North have waited patiently since 1999. They have supported the party faithfully. They have voted consistently. They have placed unity above ambition, and at this crucial moment, justice, equity, and political wisdom align in one clear direction. Giving Kwara North priority in the next governorship arrangement.

History presents rare opportunities to do what is right and politically advantageous at the same time. This is one of those moments.

Let FAIRNESS guide the DECISION.
Let EQUITY shape the PROCESS.
Let UNITY define the OUTCOME.

And let KWARA NORTH finally take its well deserved place in the LEADERSHIP of KWARA STATE.
