2027 Race Takes Shape: Tinubu Confident of Second Term, Dismisses Opposition Pressure

Clean and Klear Media Affairs reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed readiness to contest the 2027 presidential election for a second term in office.

The President made this known during a meeting with the leadership and coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he reaffirmed his commitment to deepening democracy and improving the lives of Nigerians.

According to him, his administration remains focused on tackling poverty, reducing ignorance, and strengthening democratic values, while ensuring that governance delivers meaningful impact to citizens.
President Tinubu also took a swipe at opposition parties, criticizing what he described as unproductive political conduct, while stressing that Nigeria must continue to uphold the principles of separation of powers and respect for judicial decisions, regardless of differing interests.

Clean and Klear Media Affairs gathered that the President dismissed any attempt to intimidate him politically, noting that his experience over the years has prepared him for the challenges ahead.

“They want to scare me off? It’s a lie. I have been through this path before, and if I have to come back over and over again, I will do the same thing,” he stated.
Reflecting on the 2023 elections, where he emerged victorious over Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the President acknowledged the intensity of both the primaries and the general election.

With emerging political realignments, including coalition talks among opposition figures, observers say the early signals from the President suggest growing confidence within the All Progressives Congress as preparations begin for the 2027 electoral contest.

The President also hinted that the forthcoming election may favour the ruling party, expressing optimism about its chances at the polls.
