FROM CAMPUS TO CAREER: NANCES HOSTS IMPACTFUL STUDENTS’ EMPOWERMENT SUMMIT IN ILORIN;
The National Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Students (NANCES), through the Office of the Vice President External Affairs, Senior Comrade AbdulRasheed Kawata (ALUTA KAWATA), successfully hosted a Students’ Engagement, Empowerment Summit and Awards Presentation in Ilorin.
The well-attended event, themed “From Classroom to Career: Unlocking Post-Colleges of Education Opportunities,” was designed to equip students and young graduates with practical tools for career advancement, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
Held on April 23, 2026, at the NBA Hall, Ilorin, the summit brought together students, stakeholders, and thought leaders across Kwara State and beyond.
The event featured a range of impactful sessions including:
Leadership development discussions
Entrepreneurship and business growth talks
Access to business grant opportunities
Networking platforms for students and young professionals
Scholarship insights for further academic pursuits.
Keynote Speakers:
Participants were inspired by insightful presentations from;
Dr. Saeed Raji, Registrar, MOJE College of Education, Erin-Ile.
Hon. Sulyman Kola Ayegun, APC Aspirant for Owode/Onire Constituency, Asa LGA, KWHA, 2027.
Student Participation:
Several students actively participated by delivering presentations aligned with the summit theme and were awarded certificates of participation.

Abdulmajeed Abdulfatai (Adeshina College of Education, Share – Business Education, 300L, Kwara State).
Wasiu Wasilat Olamide (Imam Hamzat College of Education – English/Islamic Studies, NCE II, Oyo State)

Other NANCES executives and organizing committee members were also recognized with certificates of service and excellence for their contributions.
