Nigeria Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement to October 2, 2025
The Nigeria Police Force has announced a 52-day extension for the enforcement of the tinted glass permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows. The new enforcement date is now set for October 2, 2025.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, approved the extension after a surge in permit applications through the official portal, showing increased public compliance.
The Police said the extension will allow more time for thorough review of applications to ensure only qualified individuals receive the permit, in line with national security measures. It will also help improve both online and physical verification processes to prevent abuse.
The IGP reminded the public that the only authorized platform for applying is https://possap.gov.ng and warned against using unofficial channels.
He also urged Nigerians to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the Police through the hotline 09169967000.
The Nigeria Police Force said it appreciates the cooperation of citizens and remains committed to ensuring public safety while maintaining convenience in its security measures.
The tinted glass permit is a mandatory requirement for certain vehicles in Nigeria to enhance security and crime prevention.
