NSCDC Intensifies Statewide Security, Launches 24-Hour Surveillance in Kwara

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has stepped up security operations with the introduction of round-the-clock surveillance across strategic areas of the state.

Clean and Klear Media Affairs reports that the newly deployed State Commandant, Bala Bawa Bodinga, made this known while addressing journalists at the command headquarters in Ilorin.

According to him, his posting to Kwara followed directives from the Commandant-General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed
Abubakar Audi, to strengthen the state’s security architecture and reinforce ongoing operational strategies.

Commandant Bodinga disclosed that continuous patrols and monitoring have already been activated across Ilorin metropolis and other identified flashpoints, stressing that officers are maintaining 24-hour visibility to deter criminal activities.

He further revealed that additional personnel have been deployed to Kiama Local Government Area in response to recent security concerns, assuring residents that proactive measures are being implemented to maintain peace and stability.

The NSCDC boss also confirmed enhanced security presence at religious centres, noting that operatives will provide coverage during Friday Jumu’ah prayers, Sunday church services, and other major religious gatherings.

On collaboration, he emphasized stronger synergy with other security agencies in the state, highlighting intelligence sharing and coordinated operations as key tools for effective crime prevention.

Commandant Bodinga added that continuous training and retraining of officers remain a priority, as modern security challenges demand professionalism, tactical competence, and updated operational knowledge.

He assured residents of improved response time, greater field presence, and intelligence-driven policing under his leadership, while also confirming readiness to provide VIP protection services when necessary.

The commandant concluded by appreciating the media for its role in promoting public awareness on security matters and pledged sustained engagement with journalists across the state.
