Kwara APC Tension: G15 Supporters Postpone Solidarity Rally, Reaffirm Commitment to Party Unity;

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State as organisers of the proposed Kwara APC G15 Supporters’ Solidarity Rally announced the postponement of the event earlier scheduled to welcome party leaders back from Abuja.

In a statement made available to Clean and Klear Media Affairs, the organisers explained that the rally was conceived by supporters and loyalists of the Kwara APC G15, a coalition comprising governorship aspirants, the three serving senators representing Kwara State, members of the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly members and aspirants, party elders, and other stakeholders.

According to the organisers, the proposed gathering was intended to receive the party leaders following a series of consultations in Abuja aimed at addressing the lingering issues within the Kwara APC while advocating for internal democracy, fairness, inclusion, justice, and collective leadership.

The statement noted that the rally was also designed to demonstrate solidarity with party leaders whom supporters believe have continued to work toward strengthening the APC and preserving its progressive ideals.

However, the organisers disclosed that the event had been postponed after consultations with party leaders and advice from relevant security agencies. They explained that the decision was taken in the interest of public peace and to avoid any development capable of escalating political tension.

The organisers maintained that the postponement should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from their advocacy but rather as a demonstration of maturity, responsibility, and commitment to maintaining law and order.

They reaffirmed their support for the principles of internal democracy, inclusiveness, justice, and unity within the APC, assuring supporters that a new date for the solidarity rally would be communicated at the appropriate time.

The group also appealed to members and supporters across Kwara State to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and steadfast while ongoing consultations aimed at resolving the party’s internal challenges continue.

The statement was endorsed by several coordinators and supporters associated with members of the Kwara APC G15 across the state.
