All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Kwara South Senatorial District, Dr. Muheebah Farida Dankaka, has reignited discussion over the party’s senatorial ticket in the district, questioning the circumstances surrounding the emergence of Lekan Adewoye as the party’s candidate.

Speaking during an appearance on TVC’s This Morning programme, Dankaka alleged that Adewoye did not finish as the winner of the APC primary, claiming that he placed fourth in the contest.

According to her, the situation has generated concerns among party stakeholders, particularly regarding the process through which Adewoye is now being presented as the APC candidate for Kwara South.

Dankaka further alleged that Adewoye joined the APC only a short period before the primary election, claiming that his participation came as a surprise to some members of the party.

Beyond the controversy surrounding the senatorial ticket, Dankaka also highlighted what she described as her historic achievement as a female politician, claiming that she is the only woman from Northern Nigeria to have won an APC primary election.
