The comprehensive 3-in-1 Empowerment Programme combined substantial cash grants, solar street light installations, and educational support materials in what stakeholders have described as one of the most inclusive constituency interventions in recent times.
At the heart of the initiative was the disbursement of business and livelihood grants ranging from ₦1,000,000, ₦500,000, ₦200,000, ₦100,000 to ₦50,000 to carefully selected beneficiaries.
The financial support is designed to strengthen small businesses, stimulate local enterprise, and cushion economic pressures at the grassroots.
Beneficiaries drawn from different wards expressed appreciation, noting that the intervention would expand their businesses and improve household stability.
In addition to the cash empowerment, Hon. Shittu commenced the distribution and installation of solar-powered street lights across all wards in Owode/Onire Constituency.
The project targets improved community safety, enhanced night-time visibility, and sustainable energy solutions.

Residents say the lighting initiative will reduce security risks and support evening economic activities.
The programme also featured the distribution of instructional materials, textbooks, and classroom chairs to public schools throughout the constituency.
Stakeholders particularly highlighted Hon. Shittu’s consistent advocacy for girl-child education.
They noted that her policies and initiatives reflect a deliberate commitment to ensuring that young girls have access to quality education, describing it as a critical investment in long-term social and economic development.
The Executive Chairman of Asa Local Government, Hon. Shehu Yahaya, commended the lawmaker’s performance, revealing that several infrastructure projects she facilitated were not even mentioned during her address.
He cited four key interlocking road projects — Daudu Alapa House 2, Alagua Agbonna, Alagua Efue, and Alagua Dogari Etile — noting that they have significantly improved mobility and access within the constituency.
In the same light, APC Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Mahmud Turawa, described the empowerment programme as a model for effective representation.
He stated that the scale of the cash support scheme and the emphasis on education — especially for girls — have placed Asa among the most actively represented constituencies in the state.
Observers at the event described the 3-in-1 programme as a practical demonstration of people-centered leadership — combining economic empowerment, infrastructure support, security enhancement, and educational development under one coordinated initiative.
With ₦30 million injected directly into communities and projects spanning all wards, Hon. Rukayat Motunrayo Shittu’s latest initiative reinforces her growing profile as a grassroots-focused legislator committed to measurable impact.
