G15 Rally: Bolarinwa Insists Kwara APC Candidates Ticket Still Open, Seeks Fair Process Ahead of 2027;

Fresh debates over the 2027 APC Candidates race in Kwara State resurfaced on Monday as former Kwara State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governorship aspirant, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), maintained that the party has not yet produced its authentic candidates for the forthcoming election.

Bolarinwa made the assertion while addressing a large gathering of APC members, supporters and stakeholders during the Kwara APC G15 Solidarity Rally held in Ilorin.

The rally, organised by the G15 coalition—comprising governorship aspirants, National Assembly members, party elders and other stakeholders—served as a platform for participants to restate their position on the party’s internal affairs and the future of the APC in Kwara State.

According to Bolarinwa, the coalition believes the process leading to the emergence of the party’s flag bearer remains a subject of concern, insisting that the APC should uphold the principles of fairness, transparency and internal democracy.

While reaffirming their loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support for his Renewed Hope Agenda, members of the coalition urged the national leadership of the APC to ensure that all internal disputes are resolved in a manner that preserves party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During the gathering, the coalition also presented a set of proposals to the APC National Working Committee (NWC), calling for a review of the party’s internal processes in Kwara State.

Among the issues raised were demands for greater inclusiveness, transparent party administration, merit-based leadership selection, credible reconciliation, protection of members’ rights, accountable governance and improved security across the state.

The coalition further stressed that democratic leadership should reflect the collective will of party members, emphasizing that inclusiveness and broad consultation remain essential to sustaining the APC’s strength in Kwara.

Also speaking at the rally, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, reportedly appealed for greater fairness and internal democracy within the party, noting that political stability is best achieved through consultation, inclusion and respect for party members.

The event attracted several prominent APC leaders and stakeholders, including Ambassador Yahaya Seriki Gambari, Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, Senator Lola Ashiru, Senator Sadiq Umar Suleiman, Barrister Dele Belgore (SAN), Alhaji Tajudeen Audu, Hon. Omar Muhammed Bio, Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi, Dr. Azeez Salako Muideen Olaniyi, Captain Ahmad Mahmud, Hon. Yinka Aluko, Hon. Ismail Tijani, alongside other party leaders and supporters.

The development underscores the continuing conversations within the Kwara APC as stakeholders seek a unified path toward the 2027 general elections while maintaining support for the party’s national leadership.
