EFCC Raids Hotel in Obasanjo Library Premises, Arrests 93 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abeokuta
Abeokuta, Ogun State — Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters in a major sting operation at the Green Legacy Hotel, located within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
The EFCC confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Sunday, August 10, 2025, by its spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in Abuja. According to the commission, the operation was based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to various cybercrime activities.
During the raid, EFCC operatives seized 18 vehicles and numerous mobile devices believed to have been used in perpetrating online scams. The operation was executed without incident, and all suspects are currently in custody.
Oyewale stated that investigations are ongoing and assured that the suspects will face prosecution once evidence gathering is complete.
The EFCC has intensified its nationwide crackdown on cybercrime, warning that perpetrators will be tracked, arrested, and prosecuted regardless of their location or networks.
