Asa Ward Youth Leaders Empower Constituents with Over ₦3 Million, Praise Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s Transformative Leadership

The Asa Local Government Area recently hosted the APC Asa Youth Leaders’ 2-in-1 Programme, a high-profile event celebrating leadership, youth empowerment, and community development under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON). The programme drew political leaders, elders, and young people from across the local government, highlighting the Governor’s achievements in governance, infrastructure, and social empowerment.

“This gathering reflects the recognition of a leader whose vision has touched every corner of Asa LGA, from roads to schools, hospitals, and opportunities for our youth,” organisers said.

Youth Engagement and Human Capital Development

A key highlight of the programme was the active involvement of youth in governance and public service. Governor AbdulRazaq’s appointments of Asa indigenes into strategic positions have created opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to state administration and policy implementation.

The event also showcased the Governor’s direct support for the community, with a distribution of ₦20,000 each to 160 beneficiaries across both constituencies of Asa LGA. The distribution was broken down as follows:

– Women: 65 beneficiaries

– Persons with Disability: 35 beneficiaries

– Youth and Men: 60 beneficiaries

Comrade Wasiu Amusa, Coordinator of the program and Odo-Ode/Aboto Youth Leader, emphasized that the initiative reflects the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and community empowerment.

Infrastructure and Community Transformation

Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration has implemented several major infrastructure projects in Asa LGA aimed at improving connectivity, commerce, healthcare, and education:

– Roads and Connectivity: Construction and upgrading of inter-LGA roads, including Madi–Peeke Road and Okolowo Express–Sokoto–Tafatafa–Elere–Owode Oja–Baba Kudu–Akopari–Otte Oja Road.

– Industrial Development: A 196-hectare Industrial Park at Idi-Emi, promoting agro-processing, manufacturing, and youth employment.

– Healthcare Improvements: Renovation of Afon General Hospital and multiple primary health centres.

– Education Upgrades: SUBEB-led school renovations to improve learning facilities for children across the LGA.

Community and Cultural Investments

The programme also highlighted investments in cultural heritage and local amenities, including interlocking tile works in palace environs and procurement of vehicles, ambulances, tractors, and motorcycles for community operations.

A Celebration of Vision and Progress

According to Comrade Wasiu Amusa, the event showcased Governor AbdulRazaq’s holistic approach to governance, demonstrating that development is most impactful when it touches both people and communities.

“We see the work, we feel the impact, and we are ready to support this vision for continued progress in Asa LGA,” Comrade Wasiu Amusa said.

The APC Asa Youth Leaders’ 2-in-1 Programme successfully highlighted the transformational leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and reaffirmed Asa LGA’s commitment to progress, youth empowerment, and community development.
